



The mission of the Santa Clara Pueblo Housing Authority (SCPHA) is to develop and maintain safe, adequate and affordable new and traditional housing for residents of Santa Clara Pueblo, while preserving tribal traditions and self-governance. The SCPHA is also involved in developing infrastructures for improving the socio-economic status of all tribal residents.
The Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA) was passed by Congress in 1996 and signed by President Clinton into law in October 26, 1996. It separated Indian Housing from Public Housing and consolidated many HUD subsidized Indian Housing Programs into one block grant. NAHASDA was re-authorized in 2009 by President Obama.
The Santa Clara Pueblo Housing Authority is a Tribal Designated Housing Entity (TDHE) under the Tribal Council Resolution No. 96-22. Authority and accountability resides within the Board of Commissioners with the ultimate authority being the Santa Clara Pueblo Tribal Council. The current BOC members are:
